Girl Online | Review

So if you're new here you might not know about my love for Zoe Sugg a.k.a. Zoella. Basically, Zoe is my favourite beauty blogger/YouTuber of all time but if you're not new around here you probably know that. If I said that I was just slightly excited when Zoe revealed that she was going to be writing a book it would be the understatement of the century. So when I opened it on Christmas Day I was over the moon and couldn't wait to read it.

The plot of the book is as follows:
I had no idea GirlOnline would take off the way it has - I can't believe I now have 5432 followers, thanks so much! - and the thought of opening up to you all about this is terrifying, but here goes...
Penny has a secret.
Under the alias GirlOnline, she blogs about school dramas, boys, her mad, whirlwind family - and the panic attacks she's suffered from lately. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets the gorgeous, guitar-strumming Noah. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog.
But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.

I really liked how Zoe wrote about subjects and places she knew about like Penny with her anxiety and panic attacks to her living in Brighton. I thought it was a really clever idea. I think something that I could relate to in the book was that Penny blogs and she doesn't want anyone to find out about it except her best friend which I kind of feel like because it was Penny's own private space to write whatever she wanted which is how I feel about my blog.

I loved all the characters in the book especially Noah. I do love a good mysterious male lead character but one of the characters I grew to the most apart from Penny was Elliot; Penny's best friend. He was funny, witty, clever and a bit sarcastic. I kind of have a best friend like Elliot just in girl form. I thought that all the characters had lots of different characteristics to bring to the table which made the book flow.

There was definitely lots of twists and turns in the book but I won't spoil them for you but they made me gasp and sometimes even laugh when they were resolved.

The book was literally amazing and I know this might seem a bit biased due to my love for Zoe but I don't care; I absolutely loved it. Also, I get that some people might not like the book because of all the controversy surrounding it on the internet but you know what these characters and the ideas in the book all came from Zoe's brain.

Final opinion? Amazing and if your contemplating picking up the book definitely do it because you won't regret it, trust me.

What was your opinion on the book if you've read it?

The Liebster Award

I haven't been having a very good day let alone week but this cheered me up immensely when I was scrolling through my emails. I bet you're all on the edge of your seats in anticipation wondering what the announcement is. Well drum roll please *imaginary drum roll* I've been nominated for a blogger award! What award would this blogger award be? It's the Liebster Award. Basically the Liebster Award is an award that is by bloggers, for bloggers! I was nominated by Dani Martin from Crystal Sparkly Dreams. I'd just like to say a big thank you to Dani for nominating me!

To be precise, the rules are:
1. Mention & link the blogger that nominated you.
2. Display the award in your post
3. Answer 11 questions given to you by the nominator.
4. Nominate 5-11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers (I've done this from bloglovin' followers).
5. Create 11 questions for the nominees to answer.
6. Notify all the nominees via social media.

Okay, so now you know the rules lets get onto Dani's questions...

1. If you could only have one wish in life, what would it be?
One wish in wish in life. Okay, I think I have one. I'd want to be able to apologize to everyone I'd ever hurt whether that be me knowing directly or indirectly. I just feel like I don't know what people are going through so I shouldn't be able to judge them on half a story and upset them even more. It probably sounds really stupid but it's true.

2. If you could have a special/magical power, what would it be?

That's a tough one considering there is so many special/magical powers but I can't chose between two. The first one is obviously Elsa's power from Frozen. Imagine being able to freeze anything you wanted when you wanted and plus she made that dress she made look fabulous. So who wouldn't want that power? You tell me!
My second one is really stupid and you're probably all going to laugh at me. It would be the power to make everyone get along. Like if two people hated each other and it was tearing friendships apart I could just be like 'BAM! Now you're friends!' I know that might seem a bit controlling but it would probably stop a lot of conflict.
Which one do you think is better?

3. Tell me something you really love in life?

Something that I really love in life...something that I really love in life. Oh, I've got it! Either reading or writing because it transports me to a place that I never knew existed. Like if I'm reading a fiction book - which is always - I get transported to the place that is being written about and I just love it. If I could spend my life in a library with the books that I want and have read I'd be in paradise.

4. What's one thing that really gets your blood boiling?

Liars. Hands down it's liars. I don't care whether it's a the one lie about having something you don't have or if it's a string of lies, one after another, I hate it. It's just if you can't tell me the truth don't talk to me.

5. What made you start blogging?

I don't actually know why I started blogging, it's sounds really weird. I just kind of decided that one day to write about the things I was loving or days out that I've had and loved. I also think that I started blogging because I really loved reading blogs which helped me with decisions on makeup and such so I thought I'd do the same.

6. What's one beauty product you couldn't live without?

Concealer, definitely. Hands down it's concealer. If I look tired or have a spot I can just dab a bit of concealer on the problematic area and make it look all better. My favourite concealer that I'd recommend is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.

7. What's one part of your body that you love?

I really love my eyes because whenever I take pictures and whether they have a filter on them or not they always look really blue which I love and I think they really match my dark hair.

 8. Tell me something that really scares you?
Something that really scares me? Hmmm...oh I've got it! Now I know that most people are like 'I'm scared of death' well that's not the thing that scares me. I'm scared of dying alone and feeling like I haven't done anything for the world. I know it sounds self centered but I want to die knowing that out there someone loves me and I don't want to feel like all I've done in life is sit around doing nothing. I want to contribute to the world in some way.

9. Tell me on funny fact about yourself?

I don't know whether it's funny but my feet are half a size different. My right foot is a 4 and a half and the other one is size 5. Does that count as funny? I don't know. You decide.

10. Who inspires you?

Blogger/YouTube wise it's Zoe a.k.a. Zoella because I just think she is so positive about everything even in a bad situation and I just feel like from where she was a few years ago and how she's grown her channel and blog is amazing and maybe one day I can do that - the blog side not so sure about YouTube yet.
Non-Blogger/YouTube wise I think it would have to be John Green or Cassandra Clare because I love the way they write and it really inspires me to become a better writer. I love Cassandra Clare's writing so much I actually started to write a Clace (Clary and Jace)fanfiction on Wattpad. And obviously John Green's writing is just pure perfection!

11. What's your absolute favourite song ever?

Hmmm, this is a tough one considering there are so many good songs out there but if I had to chose one it would have to be The Killers 'Mr Brightside' because I can just play it and turn it up no matter what's wrong and it instantly cheers me up being able to shout the lyrics out like the scene in The Holiday. However, Ryan Lewis & Macklemore's 'Can't Hold Us' comes in close second for the same reasons.

Who do I nominate?

This was quite easy for me to be honest. However, I couldn't pick five so I picked four, is that okay? I hope it is! My nominations for the Liebster award are:

My 11 questions:
1. What's one of your favourite memory?
2. What's the best bit about your body that you love?
3. Why did you start blogging?
4. Do you have a favourite quote?
5. Best Christmas present you ever been given?
6. What's your biggest fear?
7. Favourite song at the moment?
8. If you had one day left to live what would you do and why?
9. Tea or Coffee? Why?
10. What's your dream job?
11. Ever thought about doing YouTube?

Good luck to everyone nominated and thank you again to Dani for nominating me! Go check out all these girl's blogs, they are amazing!

Think Before You Type.

Before I start explaining what this blog post is about I just want to throw something out there; this blog post is not aimed at anyone in particular at all. I just wanted to upload this post because I wanted to share my opinion. So I just wanted to say that before I started the blog post properly.

So, recently a lot of the YouTubers I watch have been uploading vlogs about the hate they're seeing in the comments of their videos or vlogs both aimed at certain people involved in them or just about the video in general; picking out the smallest little things in the content of the video uploaded.

I know that I don't own a YouTube channel where I post videos but when you watch videos of people you haven't even met daily you feel like you have a connection with them as if you're friends with them and it breaks my heart when I go to comment on the video about a funny part or how great I thought the video was and see that the top few or most recent comments are picking out the worst bits in the video or how the video wasn't one of their best quality videos.

I think that over the years that I've been able to run my fingers along a keyboard the internet has started to become a much more hateful place. I haven't directly been at gunpoint for hateful comments but it still makes me upset that the YouTubers I watch and even some of my friends have been given hate over the internet and I've seen how upset they get.

I just think that some people who send hateful comment need to step away from their keyboard and think for a moment about how they'd feel if they were sent the same comment they were giving out. I don't think that they'd like it but that's just the way I feel about it. I just think that behind every keyboard and camera that there is a real person with real feelings about real life situations going on that we don't know about. They could be going through one of the hardest times in their lives and they still pick up the camera or write a blog post about something that they love and still put across that they're happy and we wouldn't know. Then to see a comment that is hurtful or mean could just make them break.

The internet is still growing and evolving even as I write this blog post. It's evolving so quickly that I actually find it hard to keep up and I don't know where this blog will take me in 2 weeks time let alone 2 years or even 5! I just really hope that we can have a happy community where we want to continue spreading positivity.

I'm going to leave you with the tweet that Zoe a.k.a. Zoella posted on her Twitter the other day but before I do I want to ask you to do something next time you watch a YouTube video or a blog post comment something positive about the video or the blog with your opinion on how much you love the product that is being reviewed or on the part that made you laugh the most. So I'll leave you with Zoe's tweet...

"Every time you post something online, you have a choice. You can make people happy or take away their happiness. Just a thought :)"

Style Icon | Zoella

I have many style icons throughout every season or any type of weather and normally they change throughout each season but there is a handful of people who's style stays in my closet and one of them people is Zoe Sugg or probably known better to the internet as Zoella. I really love Zoe's style choices from her cute collars to her her disco pants to her beautiful dresses, I just really love her fashion choices. Before I start this blog post properly I just want to give out a disclaimer; all the images in this blog post are not mine - I've found them on Google Images or from Zoe's blog. Just putting that out there. Let's get on with the blog post!

The gifs above are from Zoe's Autumn LookBook 2014 and if you haven't checked it out you definitely should! I loved all the outfits from the lookbook but these were a few of my favourites! I think that my most favourite was definitely the top gif on the first image. Here's a closer look of it below.

I really thought that this outfit was really well pieced together and that's why I loved it so much! I definitely think that this outfit would be something I took ideas from this Autumn/Winter from the tartan scarf to the army styled jacket to the black and white pinafore underneath. I just think that it's a really interesting outfit you wouldn't normally pair together but it works so well!

Another outfit of Zoe's that influenced two purchases I made recently was the outfit she wore to the One Direction: This Is Us Movie Premiere. The picture below is what Zoe wore and just think it was beautiful; it just screamed ZOE! From the flowy white dress, to the black wedge heels to her classic vlogging camera. I bought a pair of black wedge heels similar to Zoe's but a bit lower than her pair and I'm in love with them! I also picked up a flowy dress but not the same as Zoe's mine's blue with lace over the top of it. I just think that this look really inspired mine and I'm really happy that I picked them items up.

Une belle jeune fille dans une belle ville (A beautiful girl in a beautiful city). So I'm actually quite in love with this outfit. If you couldn't tell by the background of the image this picture was taken when Zoe went to Paris to visit all the classic French tourist sites and the outfit she chose was just so pretty. I just loved the black disco pants matched with the grey top, grey coat, grey hat and the black boots. I just thought it looked really pretty. Even though I don't think I'm quite brave enough for the disco pants yet but I would definitely alter this outfit with a pair of leggings. I have a grey shirt with red sleeves and then I'll sometimes wear that with my leggings. Then if I throw a coat or a jacket over it it looks quite similar to Zoe's outfit.

Let's go to the beach, each. Let's go get a wave. Sorry I couldn't resist after all this is a blog post about Zoe. Anyway I thought I'd end on quite a simplistic outfit of Zoe's. It's just her disco pants, a sort of over sized white shirt, a patterned scarf and her coat with leather sleeves. I just think that you can really dress this outfit up or you can leave it quite simple. I just really love this outfit and eventually when I do decide about disco pants on me that I'd love wearing an outfit like this.

Skincare Routine.

Keeping your skin clean is so important in your daily routine. Taking care of your skin helps take care of, calm your blemishes and clear any dirt in your pores. If the dirt in your pores is left there it can lead to spots, blackheads and other nasty things you don't want on your skin.

I've had the same skincare routine for about a year now but sometimes I swap and change things in but I thought that I would show you what my current skincare routine is. I've had this skincare routine for about a month and a half now and I'm loving the products that I'm using.

The product on the far left is my cleanser. The cleanser I'm currently using is by Simple and it's called the 'Kind to Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion.' I picked this up for £2.99 in Superdrug and I've been loving it since I picked it up. To apply this to my face to I have to put it onto a cotton pad and wipe it across my face to remove all my makeup. Using cleanser is so much better than using makeup wipes because when you continue to use the same makeup wipe on your face even though it removes the makeup it spreads dirt across your face which clogs your pores which leads to spots and blackheads.

The product in the middle is my face wash. This is the Clear & Clear Blackhead Clearing 2-in-1 wash & mask. I got this from Superdrug on a deal. It was something like 2 Clean & Clear products for £5. However, I don't know whether that deal is still on so the original price was £4.49. I'm so happy I picked this up for a few reasons. Number 1, I had quite a bad break out session before I brought this and within a few uses my spots had almost all gone. Obviously I still get the odd few every now and again but with a few uses it's bye bye to nasty Mr Old Spot. Number 2, you can use it as a mask or a face wash! Uh-may-zing! If I've come home from a long tiring day at school I can just run a bath and leave it on for five minutes or if I want a quick shower I can just use it as a quick face wash. And lastly number 3, it's oil free which means it's good for all skin types because it doesn't give you excess oil but it hydrates your skin so well!

The product on the right is my moisturiser. It's the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser. I bought this in the same deal as my face wash but at it's normal price it's £3.59, I bet you can guess why I bought it on the deal instead of separately. Anyway I love this moisturiser for a few reasons. Number 1, it's oil free so as I said it's good for all skin types. Number 2, it's a really easy application and dries quite quickly but still hydrates your skin. And number 3, it helps prevent spots too!

Hello to all the lovely people reading this. Hopefully there are people reading this....For all you lovely people who are though, welcome to my blog!

What's this blog about you ask. Well, if you hadn't already seen my blog's called 'My Crazy Beauty Journey.' Can anyone guess what this blog is about? It's kind of obvious isn't it? There are three aspects of this blog; beauty, fashion and life. And lastly, for the life part of this blog I'll be posting blog posts of places I've been or I might upload a chatty posts about my thoughts on something. I hope this blog will be of some help to everyone reading and I hope I've cleared up what this blog will be about. Any questions, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you!

So, who is this mysterious girl behind the laptop? Well, I'm Chloe. No last name sorry, that remains a mystery. Anyway, I'm 14 and I live in the UK. My hobbies and interests? Well, I love listening to music whatever the weather. Favourite song? Too many... I really like beauty and reading. Favourite book? Don't ask there's too many... Weird combination in the eyes of some people but I'm not really a normal girl. Oh, I love doing rugby, like full contact rugby. A girl playing rugby? Don't judge, girls play rugby too. Also, I love baking, mostly cupcakes, and spending time with my friends, what teenage girl doesn't?

Hey look, it's my face!
Talking about friends...Sometimes there might be a person behind the camera helping me take snapshots of my life and other things to go on my blog. Who is this face behind the camera? Well, she's one of my best friends and she's called Emily. No more information about her though, sorry, privacy reasons.

That's not her, I just liked
the picture....
So as I write my last words on this blog post listening to the words of Ellie Goulding's Anything Could Happen, it reminds me and makes me hopeful that with this blog anything could happen.
