Back To School Advice | Collab w/Pretty Prefect

So it's time for another back to school collab. Who and what am I collabing about today? Now I know that along with myself I dread this day. I'm going to say it, I love school (yes I'm one of those people) but I love school because it's the place that I can disappear. The only people who really care about me there are my friends and the teachers when they ask me a question or I actually find the courage to ask them for help. I thought that today I'd join up with Pretty Perfect and give all you lovely people some back to school advice. I'm not an expert but I'm going to give you the advice I've learnt over my many years in education. Check Pretty Perfect's blog out here.

My first bit of advice for you all is to try your best. I've learnt over the past four years in high school that not everyone can get straight A's all the time. Yes, there will be that odd person or two who always gets A's but that's no excuse for you to think that because you can't get A's all the time that you don't have to try. For example if someone is better at math than you that doesn't mean that you can't at least try. You're never going to improve if you don't try your best. So what if the other kids in your class are better than you it doesn't mean that you can't get to where they are.
STAY ORGANISED. I'm the worst person know to man that is organised, well apart from one of my best friends. I'll be up at stupid o'clock at night or in the morning when a piece of homework is due printing it off or I'll be running round trying to find everything to pack. At the start of the last school year I would pack my bag the night before etc. and then I stopped. This year I'm going to get everything ready the night before and do my homework the day I get it. I highly recommend that you do this too.

Number three is stay away from the drama. As tempting as it might be to hear what's happening in other friendship groups or something that happened between your friends just try and stay away from it. It'll end up getting you in more trouble if you join in. When someone tells you about drama that's going on you're getting a one sided story. Even if you ask both or all people involved in the drama what happened you're still only getting a sided story, there's always going to be parts of the story people miss out. It's just better for you to hear nothing about the drama rather than one sided stories that'll get you in trouble with other people. Just stay away.

If you're dating someone, which is totally fine, just make sure that you aren't focusing all your attention on them. Even if you have a crush make sure you aren't concentrating on them all the time. In Year 7 I had a boyfriend for about six months and as much as I hate to say this I focused more on our relationship than I did in lessons. When we broke up I realised what I had done and it took me a long time to get back on track. If your dating someone maybe set aside lunchtimes, after school or weekends for your time but when you're in school focus on your studies, you'll thank yourself in the long run.
Be nice to people. I don't know how bluntly I can put this across to you but treat people how you want to be treated. This shouldn't just be used in a school situation it's just a general piece of advice. You don't know what people are going through behind closed doors so maybe just let up on people. Put yourself in someone else's shoes for a second and think 'would I like it if I was being treated the way I'm treating someone' I can almost guarantee that the answer is no. If someone is annoying you and you feel as if you're about to blow up in their face just walk away because otherwise you could regret what you do.

So that's my advice for you all. In the comments share your advice with me and everyone else and don't forget to check out Pretty Perfect's blog post and blog, it's amazing.
